Basic Rules of the League
- HS and MS players must play for the team/school they attend. Students without a school team will have the option to play for a neighboring district per league approval.
- Players found not abiding by the player rules will be removed from the team with no refunds. Team Reps and Coaches found using illegal players will be subject to sanction by league officials.
- Light color jersey will be Home. Dark jersey will be away
- To start a team has to have 6 players - once 6 players are present the game will start
-Foul language will not be tolerated and will be strictly enforced
POINT SCORING/GAME TIMING
Win: 2 pts
Tie or OT loss: 1pts
Loss: 0 pts
- 3 periods of 10 minutes each with the clock stopping. Clock will run any time a goal differential of six (6) is reached.
- Game Time- Games will not be delayed or started early.
- Forfeits: There will be a 10-minute-foreit time. If a team receives a forfeit they will receive 2
points. The result will be a 4-0 win.
- Time Outs: Each team is allowed one timeout per game and one per overtime period. There are no consecutive timeouts. If a team calls a second timeout in a row, they will be penalized.
- Tie Score:
* Regular season:Sudden death 5-minute overtime period. Three on three. If no one scores, the game will be declared a tie
• Playoffs: Sudden death 10 -minute overtime periods until there is a winner.
- Playoff Positioning is based on Points -Ties for positioning in the playoff rounds are broken as follows; Head to Head, Wins, Goals against, Goals for, penalty minutes - If more than 2 teams are tied in points HEAD TO HEAD is NOT COUNTED
Game Rules
- Icing: Will be from behind the Defensive Blue Line.
- Floating Blue Line/Offside • Going into the zone, when the ball crosses the blue line, the zone is gained extending back to the Red Line. Once the ball crosses the Red Line, the Offensive Team’s players must clear the defending team’s blue line and the ball enters past the blue line to be considered onside again.
- Delayed Offside • Games will be played with a delayed off side in effect. Play is whistled dead if there is a shot on goal, regardless if the player got back before the ball reached the goal.
- Double hand up is a Minor Penalty - hand up and hand forward is NOT a penalty
- HAND PASS IS ALLOWED in the defensive zone. Defensive zone is blue line in. Pass must originate and end behind the blue line
- HAND PASS TO THE NET An offensive player cannot hand the ball onto the goalie, crease or in the net. Doing so will result in a stoppage and the ball comes out of the zone.
- Coaches-Only 3 per bench
- Crease violations will be strictly enforced. Attacking players must remain outside the crease until the ball is in play. If an attacking player is in the crease, the play shall be blown dead and the face-off goes outside the zone. There is no penalty unless the player interferes with the goalie, then the player will receive a minor penalty.
- Contact of the ball to a high stick is an automatic face off deep in the defensive zone. (No Penalty)
Player equipment
- Gloves must be padded. No garden, bike, baseball, football gloves.
- Helmets must have a cage or full face shield.
- Sticks must have a butt end.
- All players are required to wear a Helmet with FULL CAGE or full shield - must wear leg pads -elbow pads and mouth pieces are HIGHLY recommended.
PENALTIES
- Penalties: Minor: 1 Minute 30 seconds, Major: 4 Minutes and exclusion of the remainder of the game, Misconduct: 10 Minutes.
- All penalties result in the face-off taking place deep in the penalized team’s zone. • EXCEPT, if the non-offending team is called for icing the ball.
- Exclusion from Game • any 3 Minor Penalties or 1 Major = exclusion from the remainder of that game. • Exclusions subject to review and discipline - misconducts all subject to review
- Closed Hand/Delay of Game: You CAN close your hand around the ball and go directly to the ground with a constant type motion, no tricks. Ref discretion. Hand pass rules are in effect and result in a stoppage (allowed by defense in the defensive zone).
- Altercations: All altercations come with a review by the Board of Directors for further action and a minimum 3 game suspension.
- Intent to Injure / Match Penalty • Is an automatic (minimum) 3 game suspension & review by the Board of Directors. The above are MINIMUM penalties the Board of Directors reserves the right to impose additional actions for the safety and integrity of the game.
- The Board of Directors has the authority to expel any individual deemed a threat to the integrity of the game or the safety of others.
- The Board of Directors retains the authority to investigate any incident and impose penalties on individuals who violate the rules of conduct.

A player must play in at least 4 regular season games in order to be eligible to participate in the playoffs.
High School Rosters - 9th - 10th - 11th - 12th graders
Middle School Rosters - 5th - 6th - 7th - 8th graders
